If any band describes itself as “absolutely non-calculated”, it usually is the exact opposite. The trio from Ceske Budejovice is one of the few honorable exceptions. It is also a prime example that the sixties in the rock are still inspiring even for the young generation. Even after ten years, Vees is still an authentic and wild guitar band which honed its original sixties rock’n’roll into the current form of a modern rock. The fact that their shows are not only energetic, infectious and rousing has already been convinced by the audience at the Colours of Ostrava festival, the Slovak festival Grapa and dozens of smaller festivals. Mardoša made no secret of his enthusiasm for the Vees by saying: “It’s a pity that this kind of music is not a mainstream in our country.”
