The phrase “folk group from Estonia” is perhaps even more exotic in the Czech Republic than a band from the Southeast Asia or Africa. However, the current holders of the Estonian Music Awards in several categories, including the group and the album of the year, already managed to not only release their EP and last year´s album within three years but also perform in almost twenty countries including U.S.A. and tour in China and Korea in May. The trio fronted by the singer Sandra Sillamaa supposedly planned to devote itself to the Estonian folk music, but eventually came up to original songs, which combine voice samples and other archival recordings with its own music search. Soulful and poetic compositions, sometimes quite related to our Dva, builds on a natural melodiousness and on the fact that their creators set no musical boundaries.
